Why married guys need to workout?

For married guys out there.

I usually workout 2-3 times a week and that is pretty much my routine.

Sometimes, it can be less depending on what’s happening in my life.

But on this post, I will share with you something that helps to keep me

motivated to maintain a regular workout routine.

First, it makes sense for me to keep a fit body because I am a fitness coach. It would be awkward to coach people on how to get a fitter body if they don’t see mine as ideal.

I’m not saying that I am in perfect shape. But, personally, I am happy with

the body that I have right now. You know, the kind when you’re wearing a

shirt and you just have enough muscles in the shoulders, a flat stomach and pump chest that is well-defined but not that bulky. You know what I mean, for sure!

I would like to share with you a very distinct moment that really made me

decide to have my own definition of fitter body.

I got married in 2008. Back then, I was a smoker and have habits of drinking and all those bad stuff. Even if I was not yet into fitness, my wife found me cool and she agreed to marry me anyway.

During that time, I was not in good shape at all.

In 2009, I was able to finally quit smoking after so many attempts. I then

discovered running. And that eventually led me to go to the gym and start to lift weights as well.

To cut the long story short, one good thing led to another and that’s how I

became a personal trainer.

Now, in 2020, we have 2 kids. This time, I became more dedicated to really take care of my health for my kids. I am motivated and committed to do my own workouts and eat better.

But what I’m going to share with you, as a married guy, will probably help

you to be motivated to take better care of your body.

Ordinarily, whenever I get home after my workout in the gym, I feel pumped and I hit the shower and change. However, there was this one instance when my wife stared at me and said, “You’re so macho!”

In the Philippines, that means you’re sexy or hot!

She did this so well that she made me feel that “I’m the man!”

It made me feel really good about myself and I crave that feeling from time

to time.

That feeling of my wife still being physically attracted to me is one of the top reasons why I want to keep my body in shape!

It might not be a big deal for some of you as you are married already. For the others, your wife might often recognize you and say you are the best.

However, I can guarantee that when your significant other says it genuinely, it makes all the difference!

I’m not saying that your wife is not proud of you. But seeing you make your

body stronger and in better shape as one of your priorities could really make her more proud of her man.

Based on experience, I discovered that most people actually don’t work out because they want to be healthy. In reality, a lot of people actually work-out because as human beings, we crave appreciation from those we love and value the most.

I know it’s a long post, but I do hope you find it inspiring for you to start

taking care of your body, not just to get healthy but to also feel sexy and

make your wife happy.

A happy wife is a happy life!
